Partner Lijun Cao Appointed to Panel of Arbitrators of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre
Mr. Lijun Cao has been recently appointed by the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) as a member of its Panel of Arbitrators. He is currently also sitting on the Panel of China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) and of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC).
Mr. Cao has extensive experience in the area of dispute resolution, in particular international arbitration. Before joining Zhong Lun in February 2009 as a partner and member of the dispute resolution practice, Mr. Cao has worked with CIETAC in Beijing for many years. Since joining the private practice, he has represented multinational and large SOE clients in over twenty arbitration cases in China and abroad. These cases were conducted under the CIETAC Rules, the UNCITRAL Rules and the Beijing Arbitration Commissions Rules, etc, on the subject matter of international sale of goods, joint venture, equity transfer, construction and real estate. Mr. Cao has also handled a few lawsuits, in particular arbitration-related lawsuits (for determining validity of arbitration agreements, setting aside arbitral awards and enforcing arbitral awards).
Established in 1991, the SIAC is now one of the premier international arbitration institutions in Asia. Arbitration administered by the SIAC is on the increase. In 2009, 114 new cases were filed with the SIAC.
