Partner Peter Ni Speaks on PRC Taxation at American Conference Institute’s 2011 Advanced China Summit on Mergers and Acquisitions
Zhong Lun Law Firm partner Peter Ni was invited to American Conference Institute’s 2011 Advanced China Summit on Mergers and Acquisitions held in Shanghai on September 20 to 21, 2011, and spoke to more than 100 senior MNC executives on PRC tax developments in the area of cross-border M&A, including the latest M&A related tax rules, cases and tax planning ideas.
As Chinese tax law becomes more sophisticated and the Chinese tax authorities become stricter on enforcement, there is an increasing need for tax planning in M&A transactions. The feedback of the audience on the tax session was extremely positive. The attendees also asked many questions during the session regarding certain hot topics such as the taxation of offshore exit and the issues regarding the traditional holding company structure.
