Partner Wilson Huo Attended “China Youth Arbitration Forum”， One of the Key Events of China Arbitration Week 2017 and Delivered a Keynote Speech
On September 21th, 2017, as one of the key events of the China Arbitration Week 2017, “China Youth Arbitration Forum" was held in Beijing. The forum, jointly held by China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) and Renmin University of China (RUC), has attracted a large number of young arbitration practitioners including in-house counsels, arbitrators, scholars, lawyers, and case managers from arbitration institutions.
Mr. Wilson Huo, a partner from Zhong Lun Law Firm, delivered a keynote speech on“Challenges to Arbitrator in Arbitration Proceedings". In his speech, starting from a typical case handled by his team, Wilson made an in-depth analysis on the disclosure obligation of the arbitrator and institution, the basis of challenging the arbitrator and the criteria for reviewing the challenge, and proposed concrete advice considering international practices. In addition, facing TPF and ad hoc arbitration as the new opportunity and challenge to arbitration in the mainland China, Wilson shared his unique views on the issue of conflict of interest and challenges to arbitrator.
