On June 18, 2015, the Ant Financial Group, China’s Internet financial services giant, announced that it had obtained a substantial strategic investment from China’s Social Security Fund (SSF), and SSF also acknowledged that it held a 5% stake in the Ant Financial Group. It is SSF’s first direct investment in the private sector.
