Alfred XU

Alfred focuses on the area of private investment funds. He has represented top investment banks, asset managers, major multinational groups, listed companies and institutional investors in the planning, establishment and investment of hundreds of offshore private investment funds and other alternative investment vehicles, and provided continuous legal services in respect of the funds’ compliance and operations, portfolio investments and divestments, transfer and redemption of partnership interests and liquidation.

Alfred also has extensive experience in cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity and corporate finance transactions, with a particular focus on private equity investments in China-based businesses, outbound M&As and leveraged buyouts led by Chinese buyers, regional joint ventures, debt restructuring, strategic investments and other complex corporate and financial transactions involving multi-jurisdictions such as China, Hong Kong, BVI and Cayman Islands, as well as related regulatory compliance matters.

Prior to joining Zhong Lun Law Firm, Alfred had worked at an international investment bank’s New York headquarters and a Wall Street hedge fund.
