Furong DENG

Mr. Deng has been working as a lawyer in the field of real estate and construction for more than 20 years. He is the Head of Zhong Lun’s Real Estate and Infrastructure Sector and an arbitrator of the Shenzhen International Arbitration Court (SCIA) and has served as Deputy Director and Director of the Real Estate Professional Committee of Shenzhen Bar Association for many terms. Mr. Deng has been specially recommended by Legal 500 consecutively in 2020 and 2021 and named as China's Outstanding Real Estate and Construction Lawyer of the Year 2019 (CLP). Adept at tapping his profound practical experience in both litigation and non-litigation matters to help clients realize their business objectives, anticipate and avoid legal risks, innovate transaction schemes and solve complex and difficult problems, Mr. Deng has been widely recognized by clients for his expansive work in real estate, including restructuring of real estate companies, disposal and liquidation of non-performing assets, preliminary development of land, new city construction, urban renewal, land transactions, project development, engineering and construction agency, bulk property transactions, real estate investment and financing, and property operation.

Real Estate Transactions

  • Apart from extensive work in real estate business, Mr. Deng has also handled a variety of M&As in manufacturing, health care and finance and is capable of providing whole-process professional legal services, including due diligence, scheme design, tax planning, negotiation and transaction document preparation involved in investment and M&A deals.

  • Among the major real estate projects Mr. Deng has advised on, the largest has a total transaction amount of more than CNY 50 billion, and one transaction involves nearly 50 counterparts and more than 60 parcels of land. Properties under these mandates include commercial and residential buildings, building complexes, industrial properties, hotels, office buildings, ports and wharves, with transactions involved ranging from net land transactions to transactions of construction in progress, uncompleted residential buildings and completed and operating properties, from equity transactions to asset transactions, and from domestic transactions to cross-border transactions. Stakeholders of the projects include both real estate companies and non-real estate companies, and some of them are listed companies, famous central enterprises and global top 500 companies.
