Yilin HUANG

Mr. Yilin Huang is a 15+ years corporate and M&A lawyer. Before joining Zhong Lun as a partner, he worked at the international law firms including Clifford Chance and Herbert Smith Freehills for a decade. He has been advising clients on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital financings, equity and cooperative joint ventures, and complex commercial arrangements. Mr. Huang specializes in market sectors including advanced manufacturing, TMT, healthcare, real estate and infrastructure. Until very recently, with the growing popularity of cybersecurity and data security in PRC, Mr. Huang has also shifted a portion of his practice to this newly developed sector.
Mr. Huang’s clients are primarily MNCs, USD funds and financial institutions such as CPPIB, Temasek, Warburg Pincus, Sequoia, Morgan Stanley, Keppel Capital, Gaw Capital, Boyu, CapitaLand, Mapletree, Albemarle, Arkema, Aptar, United Technologies Corporation, Prologis, Associated British Food.

  • Advised Citic Group to sell the office buildings (under construction) in Shanghai

  • Advised PAG on various real estate projects in China

M&A and Investment

  • Advised a well-known European consumer goods fund to acquire a majority shares in a PRC-based membership gym

  • Advised Ping An Good Doctor on a Pre-IPO investments of USD 500 million by Softbank Vision Fund

  • Advised a Shenzhen-based online game company (backed by Tencent) to complete onshore and offshore restructure and a Pre-IPO investment

  • Advised Temasek to invest USD 40 million in an IOT (Internet of Things) start-up 

  • Advised Tencent and Alibaba on various investment projects in China

  • Advised A few investment projects by Ctrip outside China

  • Advised Metso to acquire assets from a local manufacturing factory with a transaction value of RMB 300 million

  • Advised United Technologies on various acquisition and joint venture projects in sectors of aerospace, elevator, fire prevention and enterprise security in China

  • Advised AB Sugar (under Associated British Foods) on sale of its sugar business in southern China and restructuring of its sugar business in northern China
