Zhong Lun Wins “China Firm of the Year” and Eight Other Honors at China Law & Practice Awards 2022
At the China Law & Practice Awards 2022 launched on September 8, 2022, Zhong Lun won "China Firm of the Year" award, as well as the “Firm of the Year" awards in five areas, namely, Banking & Finance, Dispute Resolution, Intellectual Property, M&A and Trade. The “LianBio Initial Public Offering" advised on by Zhong Lun was recognized as the “Equity Securities Deal of the Year". Zhong Lun partners Jun Cheng and Ping Gu were lauded as “Dealmaker of the Year—China" and “Intellectual Property Lawyer of the Year", respectively.

Jun Cheng
Mr. Jun Cheng graduated from the Université de Paris I with a Ph.D. degree in commercial law, with his doctoral dissertation receiving the highest rating. He is qualified to practice law in both China and France. Mr. Cheng mainly practices in cross-border investment/M&A, construction and project development and financing, focusing on overseas energy, mining and infrastructure, among other industries. He has been named a leading lawyer in energy and nature resources and M&A by Chambers and IFLR1000 for 10 consecutive years. He is at the helm of a team consisting of Chinese practitioners as well as foreign lawyers who can work in English, French and Spanish, covering more than 70 countries in Africa, Southeast Asia, Central Asia and Latin America. Mr. Cheng was also honored as one of the top ten “Belt and Road" lawyers.

Ping Gu
Ms. Ping Gu is a New York State lawyer and U.S. patent attorney with a J.D. degree from the U.S. She has more than 20 years of practice experience in IP litigation, licensing, technology export control, etc., including eight years with Morgan & Finnegan and Milbank Tweed in New York. Ms. Gu has been earning plaudits as a leading lawyer in IP area from Chambers for many years. She was also named China’s Litigation Star in IP area by Benchmark Litigation in 2021 and 2022 and Patent Lawyer of the Year by Euromoney at the Women in Business Law Awards Asia 2020. The medical technology licensing project represented by Ms. Gu won the USPTO 2016 Patents for Humanity Award. Her patent mandates were rated as Deal of the Year by China Business Law Journal in 2019 and 2020 and were selected as typical cases of the Supreme People's Court of the People's Republic of China.
