On December 22, 2025, Asian Legal Business (ALB) announced the list of “2025 ALB China Top 15 IP Lawyers”, and Dan He, a partner of Zhong Lun, took spot on the list.
Mr. He possesses a unique blend of academic backgrounds in science & engineering and law. Over his more than 30 years of legal practice, Mr. He has represented clients in thousands of intellectual property (IP) litigation and arbitration cases, among which dozens were heard by the IP Court of China’s Supreme People's Court.
Mr. He boasts solid professional expertise and extensive practical experience in resolving technology-related IP disputes such as patent and trade secret cases. He particularly excels at handling hybrid criminal-civil trade secret cases, having successfully acted on a series of landmark matters. Many of his cases have been recognized as model cases of the year by people's courts and IP offices at national, provincial, and municipal levels.
Mr. He has also delivered outstanding performance in patent analysis and portfolio planning, as well as in establishing IP compliance systems for high-tech enterprises. Having provided targeted and efficient professional support to numerous businesses, he has helped them build robust IP protection frameworks. His professional capabilities and contributions to the industry have won wide recognition, earning him consistent recommendations from leading international legal ranking agencies such as Chambers and Partners.
Beyond his law firm practice, Mr. He served as the Chief Legal Counsel of a prestigious 985 Project university for 16 consecutive years. Currently, He acts as legal counsel to the municipal Party committee and the municipal bureau of data management. He also holds the position of arbitrator at top-tier institutions including the Beijing Arbitration Commission (BAC) and serves as a Master of Laws (LL.M.) supervisor at Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and other renowned universities. He is currently the Vice President of the Provincial IP Service Association and Chairperson of the IP Professional Committee of the Provincial Lawyers Association.
