Zhong Lun Participates in the “UK-East Asia Law Firm Trade Mission”
On 23 through 25 May 2011, Zhong Lun’s international managing partner Robert Lewis and partners Audry Li and Lijun Cao participated on behalf of Zhong Lun in the “UK-East Asia trade mission" professional exchanges activities hosted by the Law Society of England and Wales in London.
During the three day event, the three partners participated in all the seminars and exchange activities organized by the Law Society, and had “one- on- one meeting" with representatives of many international and English law firms to explore opportunities for cooperation in areas such as Chinese outbound investment, cross-border transactions and international dispute resolution, etc.
On 26 May 2011, the three partners joined as speakers at 2 seminars hosted by the Practical Law Company (PLC) on the topic of “Opportunity, Risk & Trends for Western companies in China". Robert Lewis also spoke at another seminar organized by China Britain Law Institute on the topic of “China Business Law 2020, A Seminar on China’s Legal Market and the Prospects for Western Firms". The seminars have been warmly responded by the participants including lawyers, in-house counsels and business communities.
On 26 and 27 May 2011, the three partners also visited the London office of a number of large international law firms that have friendly cooperation with Zhong Lun and discussed with these firm’s representatives how to further cooperation and develop long term relationship in the future. They also paid visit to the London Court of International Arbitration to learn about Chinese enterprises’ involvement in arbitral proceedings seated in London.
The visit to London was successful and has achieved the aim of further branding Zhong Lun as a top national law firm in China in the legal community of the UK.
