Zhong Lun recently represented KOMATSU LTD. in a review of opposition against a trademark application. In the review decision, the Trademark Review and Adjudication Board (“TRAB") refused the application of the opposed trademark and recognized that the cited trademark 
, which was registered in 1995, as a well-known trademark.
A fortune-500 company, KOMATSU LTD., which was founded in 1921, is the second largest engineering machine manufacturer in the world. is the sole mark consecutively used and promoted all over the world. Zhong Lun represented KOMATSU in the review stage. Based on our extensive experiences on similar cases, we closely collaborated with our client to supplement and strength relevant evidence, and eventually lead the case to be in favor of the client. Finally the cited trademark was recognized as a well-known trademark and the TRAB refused the opposed trademark to be registered.
