On 6 January 6 2015, China Insurance Regulatory Commission (“CIRC") approved Sun Life Everbright Asset Management Co., Ltd. together with AnHua Agricultural Insurance Company Ltd., Chang An Property and Liability Insurance Co., Ltd., Soochow Life Insurance Co., Ltd., Kunlun Health Insurance Co., Ltd. and Taishan Property & Casualty Insurance Co., Ltd. to launch a Small-Cap and Mid-Cap Enterprises Private equity fund (“Fund") and to establish a professional fund management company as the Fund’s manager with registered capital of RMB 100 million.
Zhong Lun Law Firm, acted as the counsel of Sun Life Everbright Asset Management Co., Ltd., provided legal services in this transaction. The legal team from Zhong Lun was led by Partner Catherine Chen, and included Associate Joseph Liu, Qing Jing and Xiaorui Yang as core members.
The Fund is the first private equity fund invested by insurance capital and managed by company set up by insurance corporations. The Fund demonstrates the advancement of utilizing insurance capital to support Small-Cap and Mid-Cap Enterprises.
