On 29 May, 2018, ZTO Express (Cayman) Inc., a Cayman affiliate of ZTO Express Co., Ltd. (“ZTO"), successfully entered into a strategic agreement with Alibaba and Cainiao, in which investors led by Alibaba and Cainiao will invest US$1.38 billion in ZTO in exchange for an approximately 10% equity stake in the company. ZTO and Alibaba will deepen the collaboration in the transformation of China’s logistics industry and the development of technology-driven smart solutions.
Zhong Lun Law Firm acted as ZTO’s PRC counsel and has provided comprehensive legal services for this project. The legal team was led by Anthony Qiao, Michael Chen and Justin Cai, partners of Zhong Lun, and the team members include Feifan Wang, Irene Le, Nicole Wang, Mengfan Zhang, Kevin Wang and Zoe Gao.
