Alan Wong
Alan has extensive experience advising financial institutions, credit funds and corporates on a board range of highly structured and complex financing transactions, including acquisition finance, fund finance, pre-IPO finance, real estate finance and other forms of cross-border financings. Apart from advising clients on their loan and other debt financings, Alan also focuses on debt restructuring matters and has advised on numerous significant and award-winning restructuring transactions in the PRC real estate sector.
Alan transacts in English, Cantonese and Mandarin and is recognized by clients for his strong technical skills, commercial savviness and deep knowledge of the markets in the Greater China region and across Asia Pacific.

Loan transactions
Represented Unicorn Bay (Hong Kong) Investments Limited, the joint venture between Logan Group Company Limited and KWG Group Holdings Limited (the "Listcos"), as borrower on a HK$8.2 billion (US$1.05 billion) loan facility, secured by the fully developed luxury residential property "The Corniche"
Represented R-Bridge Healthcare Fund, a subsidiary fund of healthcare-focused CBC Group, on a US$40 million royalty-backed financing to Yisheng Biopharma Co., Ltd. This is the first royalty-backed financing in China's biopharmaceutical industry. The deal has been named as one of the "Deals of the Year 2022" by China Business Law Journal and shortlisted for "Deal of the Year: Loan" at the IFLR Asia-Pacific Awards 2023
Represented Geely Automobile Holdings Limited, one of the leading Chinese automotive companies, as borrower in relation to a US$400 million syndicated green loan facility with The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited as the global coordinator and agent for a syndicated of banks to finance and/or refinance certain eligible green projects and/or social projects
Represented Canvest Environmental Protection Group Company Limited, a Hong Kong-listed company principally engaged in the development, management and operation of waste-to-energy plants, in a syndicated facility agreement participated by 15 global banks in total. The transaction involved a three-year green term facility with an aggregate amount of HK$2.891 billion and arranged by The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited as mandated lead arrangers and bookrunners and agent
Represented Country Garden Holdings Company Limited in connection with its US$453 million and HK$8.13 billion dual currency of Hong Kong-governed syndicated loan facility
Represented CIFI Holdings (Group) Co. Ltd in connection with its HK$2.798 billion (US$360 million) green syndicated loan facility. CIFI Holdings (Group) Co. Ltd. is principally engaged in the property development and property investment business in China. The deal was named as "Deal of the Year: Best Green Syndicated Loan" in real estate industry by The Asset's Triple A Sustainable Capital Markets Awards 2021
Represented Citibank as global coordinator in relation to the US$4.65 billion loan facility to Tencent Asset Management Limited
Represented a syndicate of 11 banks in the US$3.2 billion financing facility for COFCO's acquisition of Noble Group Limited's agribusiness and the Dutch commodity trader and agribusiness company Nidera
Represented Standard Chartered Bank and other syndicate lenders on the €200 million term loan facility to Zhongding (Hong Kong) Limited
Represented Standard Chartered Bank and other syndicate lenders on the US$154 million term loan facility to Comtech International (Hong Kong) Limited
Represented UBS AG as lead financial adviser and Standard Chartered Bank Limited as joint financial adviser to China Mengniu Dairy Company on its US$1.63 billion voluntary general offer for Hong Kong-listed Yashili International Holdings
A syndicate of lenders led by ANZ on HK$2 billion term and revolving loan facilities to AMVIG Holdings Limited for the purposes of refinancing existing indebtedness
Represented ADM Capital in relation to a US$100,000,000 term loan facility for a P.R.C.-based borrower to finance its acquisition of a P.R.C.-based education business
Debt restructuring
Represented Shimao Group Holdings Limited on the restructuring of its offshore debt in the aggregate principal amount of approximately US$11.5 billion. This deal is one of the largest real estate restructuring transactions and was named as "Deal of the Year" by China Business Law Journal in 2024
Represented Sunac China Holdings Limited in the restructuring of its US$10.2 billion offshore debt. The deal has been named as "Restructuring Deal of the Year" by IFLR Asia-Pacific Awards 2024, and also won the "Asia-Pacific Restructuring" award at International Financing Review's IFR Awards 2023 and the "Turnaround Deal" award at the IFR Asia Awards 2023
Represented Sino-Ocean Group Holding Limited on the successful restructuring of its approximately US$6 billion offshore debt. This landmark restructuring was implemented using a Part 26A RP in the United Kingdom and an interconditional and partially overlapping scheme of arrangement in Hong Kong, a first in the market
Represented Kaisa Group Holdings Ltd. on the approximately US$12.3 billion offshore debt restructuring through the dual parallel schemes of arrangement at two different entities in their relevant jurisdictions. This deal was named "Deal of the Year" by China Business Law Journal 2024
Represented Zhongliang Holdings Group Company Limited on the successful restructuring of its approximately US$1.2 billion of offshore debt
