Wei KONG

Mr. Wei Kong, a licensed Chinese lawyer since 1993, graduated from Gansu College of Political Science and Law with a bachelor's degree in law. Mr. Kong was appointed by the Ministry of Justice to study at SOAS of University of London from May 1997 to May 1998. He joined Zhong Lun Law Firm as a partner in 2001.

Mr. Kong has acted as legal counsel for scores of Chinese or foreign enterprises and financial institutions. During his more than 30 years practice as a lawyer, Mr. Kong has provided professional and specialized legal services concerning, among others, IPO, M&A in the field of capital markets for many well-known enterprises, gaining extensive experience in non-litigation areas, including Chinese mainland capital markets, Hong Kong & overseas capital markets, financial products & trusts, etc.

In the field of green finance, Mr. Kong, as one of the main drafters, participated in the drafting of Environmental Equity Financing Tool by the Financial Standards Committee of the People’s Bank of China, which was published in July 2021 as the first national standard.

  • Provided full-process legal services for the establishment and subsequent investment projects of National Green Development Fund Co., Ltd.

  • Provided legal services to CCB International, CICC Capital, CITIC Capital, CPPIB, Chinese Culture, Asia Union Fund, Jiaxin Capital, Prax Capital, NewMargin Ventures, Chengwei Capital, Huaxi Langya and other funds for their private investment in different types of companies

  • Provided legal services to the management of News Holdings Limited for its acquisition of Star Media 

  • Provided legal services to Simei Media Co., Ltd. for its acquisition of Keyi Media. 

  • Provided legal services to Earthasia Design Group for its acquisition of Ningbo Huayuan Garments Construction Co., Ltd. 

  • Provided legal services to T3EX Group for its acquisition of Fresh Beauty

  • Provided legal services to Shanghai Oriental Pearl Co., Ltd. for its acquisition of Shanghai Radio & TV Weekly Newspaper Office

  • Provided legal services to Shanghai Industrial for its acquisition of EAS Logistics (a special report project of Bloomberg) 

  • Provided legal services to an international water company for its acquisition of a domestic water company, investment in the construction of sewage treatment plants through BOO, BOT and other modes and obtaining of franchise rights as well as other M&A projects.


  • Provided legal services for the restructurings and listings of VT Industries (300707.SZ), Ningbo Runhe Chemical Industrial (300727.SZ), Everdisplay Optronics (688538.SH), United Imaging Medical Technology (688271.SH), Lifan Technology (601777.SH), Chiho-Tiande (00976.HK), China Lonking Holdings Limited (03339.HK), Bank of Huzhou and Geely Automobile Holdings Limited, and provided legal services to many enterprises for their financing projects

  • Provided retainer-based legal services to a stock exchange, Shanghai Electric Leasing Co., Ltd., COSCO Shipping Leasing Co., Shanghai Lujiazui Financial City Development Bureau Co., Ltd., Zhongrong International Trust Co., Ltd. and other companies
