Lee Matthews

Lee Matthews is a partner with Zhong Lun’s New York and Los Angeles offices and a member of the Firm’s Litigation Group. He is an experienced litigator and represents a number of regional and international companies and businesses.

Representative Matters

  • Lee is a former federal prosecutor with the US Department of Justice and Senior Attorney in the Civil Division working on both Commercial Litigation and International Trade Disputes for the US Government. He was a Special Attorney with the Organized Crime and Racketeering Section of the Criminal Division, served as an Assistant US Attorney and was Senior Counsel on the Congressional Select Committee that investigated the Assassination of President John F. Kennedy. After a career as a government and congressional attorney, he practiced law in Frankfurt, Germany for 15 years and was the founding partner of the law firm of Matthews & Kelso. While in Germany, he represented numerous international companies in areas of construction, commercial and securities law. He was the President of the American Bar Association for US Attorneys in Germany and was admitted for the practice of law in Germany as a Foreign Legal Advisor. He testified regularly in the German Court as an American Law Legal Expert in areas of Comparative law and was co-counsel in several cases before the Federal District Court in Frankfurt, Germany.
