Geneva, July 13 (Xinhua)——GeoGPT is an open-source, non-profit large-scale model built for the geosciences. Rooted in Deep-time Digital Earth (DDE) data, it incorporates retrieval-augmented generation, knowledge graphs and related technologies to deliver intelligent search and analysis of deep-time data, automated reading and structured extraction of academic literature, interactive Q&A and controllable generation of geological maps, and dynamic construction and updating of geoscience knowledge graphs, all supported by an agent development platform. As of 13 July 2025, the platform supports over 40,000 scientists across 135 countries and was honored as a 2025 "AI for Good Innovate for Impact" use case, earning the International Telecommunication Union's Outstanding Innovation Practice Award during the AI for Good Global Summit 2025 in Geneva.
Zhejiang Lab is a non-profit research institution funded by the Zhejiang provincial government, China. Focusing on intelligent computing, the lab commits to Open Science best practices and contributes to the collective advancement of scientific research through the initiative of “Artificial Intelligence + Science.” The mission is to drive the research paradigm shift.
