Shirley Zhao

Ms. Shirley Zhao is a non-equity partner with the Corporate Department of Zhong Lun’s Shanghai office. She is experienced in a wide range of real estate related practice, including acquisitions/dispositions, financing, restructuring, operation, leasing, etc. Before joining the firm, Shirley had worked as legal counsel in an international real estate fund.
Shirley represents major international funds, multinational real estate investors and financiers, large domestic and foreign real estate enterprises, etc. She has more than ten years of experience in real estate transactions, financing, cross-border guarantees and project management, among others. She has provided legal services to clients including, but not limited to, Phoenix Property Investors, Starcrest, PAG, Apollo Management, Hines and Chelsfiled for the acquisition and financing of high-end office and commercial complexes, warehousing and logistics, etc. in China.

  • Represented Phoenix Property Investors in its acquisition of a high-end office and commercial complex located in the CBD of Shanghai

  • Represented Starcrest in its various real estate related transactions, including high-end office, commercial complex and science park projects in Shanghai and Shenzhen

  • Represented Macquarie in its investment in and acquisition of logistic properties in Shanghai and Jiangsu

  • Represented Apollo Management in its various real estate related transactions, warehousing and logistics projects and data center operation projects in China

  • Represented PAG in its various real estate acquisition and refinancing projects in China
