Zhong Lun Welcomes Partner Gary Li to Join the Firm
Mr. Gary Li recently joined Zhong Lun Law Firm as partner in the Hong Kong office.
Mr. Li holds a J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an LL.B. from Peking University. With decades of in-depth experience in private equity, cross-border investment and financing, and corporate M&A, he commands extensive expertise in leveraged buyouts, take-privates, PIPEs and growth equity investments. A seasoned expert in the legal industry, he has led many highly complex transactions for a range of renowned international investment companies and Chinese businesses. Some of his notable deals include Bain Capital’s USD 3.16 billion take-private of Chindata, the USD 4.76 billion acquisition of China Biologic Products Holdings, Inc. by a buyer consortium consisting of Centurium Capital, CITIC Capital, Hillhouse Group and other investors, as well as Blackstone’s USD 1.6 billion acquisition of Interplex.
Admitted to practice law in the Hong Kong SAR of China and the State of New York in the United States, Mr. Li has worked at Paul Weiss, Ropes & Gray, and Kirkland & Ellis. Before joining Zhong Lun, he was a senior corporate partner at the Hong Kong office of Kirkland & Ellis, leading its private equity and M&A practice in the region. Throughout his career, Mr. Li has been consistently recognized and recommended by prestigious international legal media outlets such as Chambers, The Legal 500, and IFLR 1000 for his astute business acumen, exceptional performance, and distinguished reputation among clients.
