The Shenzhen Municipal Government held a royal National Day Reception at Wuzhou Hotel on 28 September 2004. The officials of Shenzhen City, such as Mr. Huang Liman, Deputy Secretary of Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee, Mr. Li Hongzhong, member of the Standing Committee of Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and Mayor of Shenzhen City, as well as hundreds of big names from all circles, and other guests from inland and abroad, attended the reception to celebrate 55th birthday of the People’s Republic of China together. Mr. Li Hongzhong and Mr. Zhong Haowei, an Honorary Citizen of Shenzhen City and winner of National Friendship Prize in 2004, and President and CEO of Walmart Asia, gave speeches respectively. Mr. Lai Jihong, managing partner of Shenzhen Branch of Zhonglun Law Offices, was invited to attend the reception as the representative of the figures who returned to China after finishing study abroad. Mr. Lai was chosen as the Star of the 2nd Outstanding Pioneering Youth Back to China After Study Abroad in September 2003 and the Director of the First Council of Pioneering Promotion by Guangdong Youth Back to China After Study Abroad in December 2003.
