Liu Borong Awarded Best Guest Speaker at the first ever Conference of International Financing Review (IFR) held in China
On 11 March, 2008, International Financing Review held a conference, for the first time in China, at Shanghai Shangri-La Hotel, on the topic of “China: Latest Trend in International Finance". Representing Zhong Lun Law Firm, the only invited Chinese mainland law firm, Liu Borong gave a speech titled “Securitization: What are the opportunities for Chinese issuers?"
This was IFR’s first conference held in China, which assembled an outstanding audience and many top speakers, including some of the most highly respected experts in the investment banking business in Greater China. The conference was intended to provide a unique platform upon which borrowers, lenders, investors and underwriters could meet face-to-face, discussing issues concerning developments of the Chinese and international capital markets.
In his speech, Liu Borong introduced in details the status of several trial pilot securitization projects in China, possible trends of their future developments and various possible alternative proposals for securitization legislation in PRC. His speech was highly regarded and made him the best guest speaker.
