Zhong Lun Co-held the Basic Economics for Antitrust Lawyers sSeminar with ABA, Section of Antitrust Law
On Oct. 31st, 2013, the second session in a unique nine-part series on US Antitrust Law Fundamentals for Chinese Practitioners designed by ABA, Section of Antitrust Law was held in Zhong Lun Beijing Office. The series were to feature leading US and Chinese practitioners and scholars discussing key areas of US antitrust law and policies, and compare the US and Chinese competition regimes. The second session was entitled Basic Economics for Antitrust Lawyers and more than thirty professionals from antitrust practice areas, such as government, enterprises, law firms and universities attended. They had an in-depth discussion with the panelists.
The session was presided over by Mr. Cen Zhaoqi, partner of Zhong Lun Beijing Office. Dr. Nicholas Hill from FTC was invited to introduce some basic economic concepts that underlie antitrust enforcement, Dr. Xiaoru Wang from Charles River Association to provide an overview on applying these economic concepts into competitive analysis in merger review and Professor Gong Jiong from University of International Business and Economics to comment on the use of antitrust economics in enforcement actions and litigation in China during the session . The panelists also shared their understandings of economic concepts and analytic method of economics in antitrust laws and their practical experience.
