Zhong Lun Partner Wantao Yang was Invited as the Keynote Speaker at the AFLA Seminar
On February 25, 2015, invited by American Foreign Law Association (AFLA), Zhong Lun partner Mr. Wantao Yang attended and presented a speech of “China Related Cross-Border Arbitration: Progress and Perspective" at the AFLA Seminar in New York City. The speech addressed several cutting-edge issues on the practice of arbitration in China; China’s attitude toward international arbitration’s entry into China; the difference on the practice between Chinese arbitration institution and international arbitration institution; recent important developments in international arbitration in China and China related investment treaty arbitration. The speech received a warm welcome from the attendants that consist of many practitioners from leading international law firms and notable scholars, and was complimented as a “useful and fascinating" speech.
The seminar was host by Mr. Paul Downs, the president of AFLA. Mr. James Silkenat, the immediate past president of the American Bar Association, introduced Mr. Yang, and retrospect the development of communication between China and US legal professionals since his first visit to China as a representative of US attorneys in the middle 1970s. Zhong Lun New York Office partners Mr. Philip Zhang and Mr. T.K. Chang attended and coordinated the meeting.
