Partner Cao Lijun Appointed as Member of the SIAC Court of Arbitration
Mr. Cao Lijun, partner of Zhong Lun’s Dispute Resolution Department, has been appointed as a Member of the Court of Arbitration of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) with effect from 1 April 2015.
The SIAC, founded in 1991, is a leading dispute resolution institution of the world. In 2013, the SIAC established the Court of Arbitration, which is mainly responsible for appointment of arbitrators, determination of jurisdictional challenges and challenges to arbitrators, as well as overall supervision of case administration at the SIAC. The new SIAC Court of Arbitration will comprise seventeen eminent arbitration practitioners from around the world.
Lijun joined Zhong Lun in early 2009. Prior to joining Zhong Lun, he had worked with the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) for a long time. Lijun’s primary practice area is international arbitration, and he has been continuously recognized as a leading dispute resolution lawyer by various legal directories such as Chambers. Lijun also acts as an arbitrator, and he currently sits on the panel of arbitrators of many international institutions, including the SIAC, the CIETAC, the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) and the International Center for Dispute Resolution (ICDR). He is also a Member of the Arbitration Committee of the All China Lawyers Association (ACLA).
