Zhonglun Represents 51.com to Secure Strategic Investment from Giant Interactive
China’s leading online community network 51.COM announced on July 1, 2008 that Giant Interactive, as the Series C lead investor, will conclude a strategic investment of US$51 million in the company in exchange of its 25% share capital. This is one of the largest investments in China’s Internet sector recently. Zhonglun’s team, mainly comprised of Anthony Zhao, Jane Fan and Queenie Tong, has acted as the legal counsel for and provided cross-border legal services to 51.COM for this transaction. Since its representation of Sequoia’s investment in 51.COM in May 2006, Zhonglun has assisted the company in securing two rounds of investments from Sequoia, SIG, Intel and Redpoint.
