Zhong Lun Advises HWPG on Disposal of the Office Property Located in Century Place in Shenzhen
Hutchison Whampoa Property Group (“HWPG"), the investment arm of Hutchison Whampoa Limited (00013.HK), has recently reached an agreement with Bank of Communications, Shenzhen Branch (03328.HK) relating to the sale and purchase of part of Century Place Tower in Shenzhen. The transaction is reportedly known as the largest single property deal in Shenzhen in the past 32 years.
Catherine Guo, a partner based in Zhong Lun’s Shenzhen office, led a team consisting of Alice Qiu, Weifang Deng, Elaine Liu and Robin Zhang to advise HWPG in connection with the legal due diligence, documentation and negotiations required for the aforesaid transaction. The team delivered seamless services, which ensured the successful completion of this transaction in a short period of time.
The Century Place is located in the most prosperous Huaqiang North Commercial Circle, close to the city’s main commercial thoroughfare - Shennan Avenue, adjacent to the city’s new CBD, west to the city’s permanent green - Central Park, and east to the city’s most bustling commercial areas. The complex comprises of international Grade-A office buildings, shopping malls and business apartments and is recognized as the landmark property in the region.
