On 25 October 2013, Yue Xiu Group and Chong Hing Bank (01111.HK) jointly announced that Yue Xiu Group agreed to buy a stake of up to 75 percent in Chong Hing Bank Ltd. for about HK$ 11.64 billion (US$1.5 billion), through a voluntary all cash partial offer at a price of HK$35.69 per share. In this significant M&A transaction and the bridge loan facility to finance the purchase, Zhong Lun acts as PRC counsel to the acquirer and borrower, Yue Xiu Enterprises (Holdings) Limited. The acquisition of Chong Hing Bank will be the first takeover of a Hong Kong bank from the Year 2008.
