Zhong Lun Advises on Meituan Dianping’s IPO in Hong Kong

On September 20, 2018, Meituan Dianping (stock code: 3690), China’s leading e-commerce platform for services, announced its initial public offering and listing on the Main Board of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited. The net proceeds from this offering exceeded HK$32.5 billion prior to the exercise of the over-allotment option.

Maituan Dianping is the second company listed in Hong Kong that is controlled through weighted voting rights, and has become one of the largest public Chinese Internet companies in term of market capitalization. Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and BofA Merrill Lynch are the joint sponsors of the offering.
