Zhong Lun Advises Construction of the Largest Power Plant in FBiH
Block 7 in TPP Tuzla of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), a massive 450MW power station, recently entered implementation stage. It is owned by Elektroprivreda BiH d.d. Sarajevo and to be constructed by a consortium made up by China Gezhouba Group Company Ltd (CGGC) and the China Energy Engineering Group, Guangdong Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. (GEDI). With over EUR 700 million in EPC contract price alone, this is the largest electricity project and most important investment in FBiH since its civil war. It also marks a breakthrough made by Chinese construction companies in East-Central Europe. In 2017, Chinese premier Li Keqiang personally witnessed the execution of the project’s funding agreement when attending the 7th China-CEEC Business Forum.
As the legal advisor of GEDI, Zhong Lun is providing comprehensive legal services for the project. Zhong Lun team and overseas attorneys coordinated by Zhong Lun will provide services covering China (re domestic suppliers), FBiH (re project owner and local contractors), and several other jurisdictions (re equipment suppliers in Europe and America).
