Bin FAN

Mr. Bin Fan holds a range of professional qualifications, including Securities Practice Qualification, Qualified Independent Director for Public Listed Companies, Qualified Director for Insurance Institutions, First-Class Lawyer Qualification, and Senior Financier Qualification. Since entering full-time practice in 1995, he has built an extensive portfolio of over 100 significant engagements, focusing on IPOs, asset restructurings, and investment and financing projects. His career highlights include leading one of the industry’s major cross-border transactions: the 2012–2014 acquisition of Australia's Talison Lithium, the world's largest owner and supplier of solid lithium ore, by Sichuan Tianqi Lithium. This CNY 5.6 billion transaction was a landmark in the sector and received the “Best Innovative Service for Merger and Acquisition and Restructuring” distinction at the inaugural 2015 China M&A Golden Sycamore Awards. In addition to his transactional work, Mr. Fan has substantial litigation experience and has argued nearly 100 major cases before the Supreme People’s Court (SPC) and various provincial high people’s courts. Two of these cases were designated as “Guiding Cases” by the SPC, with one officially published under Fa Gong Bu [2002] No. 24 and the other featured in the Supreme People’s Court Bulletin (2005). He has also represented clients in nearly 20 high-stakes administrative matters, including trademark disputes and regulatory hearings before the CSRC and SAIC.
