Jessica Kwok
Jessica's practice is focused on private client and general corporate matters. She regularly advises clients on trusts, succession planning, wills, probate and estate administration, corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions and other general corporate and commercial matters.
Jessica is a Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) and also a member of the Wills and Estates Sub-committee and the Next Gen Sub-Committee of STEP Hong Kong (The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (Hong Kong) Limited)
Representative Matters
Advising a family on estate and succession planning for their family's investment, including wills preparation for different family members and restructuring of various trusts with assets spanning Hong Kong, PRC, Singapore and Taiwan for tax and succession planning purposes
Advising a private real estate developer in Canada with over USD5 billion in global assets and real estate development projects across Canada, U.K., U.S. and Hong Kong on trusts, tax, estate and succession planning, merger and acquisitions, loan financing and disclosure and compliance matters
Acted for a well-known PRC entrepreneur with over USD3 billion in assets on handling relevant disclosures to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and addressing Hong Kong stamp duty, PRC tax and other regulatory compliance and disclosure matters in other offshore jurisdictions
Advised the chairman and executive director of a Hong Kong listed company on settlement of offshore trusts and addressing Hong Kong stamp duty issues and securities regulatory issues arising from the shareholding restructuring in the Hong Kong listed company
Acted for a PRC entrepreneur on his group reorganization (including restructuring of shareholder loans and liquidation of offshore companies) and successfully obtained stamp duty relief of over USD2.8 million on distribution of shares of a Hong Kong listed company
Advised individual client on establishment of a charitable foundation and successfully obtained tax exemption status in Hong Kong
Advised a well-known real estate tycoon in acquiring multiple properties, including yachts, hotels, hospitals and brewery in Canada and addressed various corporate restructuring, disclosure and compliance matters
Advised on the acquisition of a leading logistics company that engaged in air, ocean, rail and truck freight forwarding business of over USD100 million in value
Advised on the USD1.3 billion sale of businesses by a leading global specialty chemicals company
