Zhou JIANG
Mr. Jiang Zhou focuses on the core practice area of maritime and admiralty law with solid professional expertise. He has also expanded into related fields including international trade, ship investment and financing, insurance claims settlement, logistics and supply chain, and marine environmental protection, striving to provide clients with full-process legal risk prevention and control services. During his practice, he has represented major P&I Clubs, shipping companies, shipyards, and supply chain enterprises in handling a large number of maritime commercial disputes as well as admiralty disputes such as ship collisions, oil pollution damage, personal injury and death, and aquaculture damage, accumulating rich case-handling experience.
Mr. Jiang has led or played a core role in dozens of major domestic and foreign-related legal service projects. His typical achievements include the guarantee contract dispute relating to the Port Asset Acquisition Project of Lanqiao port, the series of claims arising from the "3·21" Cable Breakage and Grounding Accident of MT "ARZOYI" in Qingdao, the series of claims arising from the "4·27" Ship Collision and Oil Spill Accident of MT "Symphony" in Qingdao, the soybean cargo damage dispute of MV "Ioanian Sea" and MV "Skopelos I" at Rizhao Port, the series of claims arising from the "8·24" General Poisoning Incident of MV "Glorious Maple" in Rizhao, and the marine insurance contract dispute of the well-known stranded vessel MV "Blueways" in Weihai. Among them, the case of the aquaculture cage construction contract dispute over the "Deep Blue No.1" represented by Mr. Jiang was selected as a Typical National Maritime Trial Cases of 2021, and in the series of disputes represented by Mr. Jiang where a Shanghai-based group company sued a Qingdao shipping company over the illegal detention of cargo on board MV "Ocean Confidence", the jurisdiction dispute of this case has been included in Lloyd's Law Reports, becoming one of the precedents under English law regarding whether an anti-suit injunction can bind non-parties to an arbitration agreement.

Representative Achievements in Maritime and Admiralty Law
Acted for a port company in the guarantee contract dispute relating to the Port Asset Acquisition Project of Lanqiao port, assisting the client to recover over CNY 4 billion through equity transfer for debt repayment during the enforcement proceedings
Represented a Qingdao terminal, four oil spill cleanup companies, and a tugboat company respectively in filing concurrent claims for ship contact tort, oil pollution damage, and maritime salvage against MT "ARZOYI" in the "3·21" Cable Breakage and Grounding Accident of MT "ARZOYI" in Qingdao
Acted for an insurance company in responding to a massive insurance claim of over EUR 2.3 million for third-party loss caused by the MT "Sino Star" colliding with terminal while berthing at Huelva Port, Spain, successfully obtaining a judgment confirming the lawful termination of the ship insurance contract prior to the insured event
Represented a shipyard in Hubei Province in defending against claims from a Rizhao fishery breeding enterprise regarding the construction contract of "Deep Blue No.1"—the first fully-submersible fishery breeding equipment in the world. This case was selected as a "Typical National Maritime Trial Case of 2021"
Acted for a Qingdao shipping company in responding to a series of claims for wrongful ship arrest, illegal detention, and unjust enrichment filed by a Shanghai-based group company arising from the detention of cargo on board the MV “Ocean Confidence”. The jurisdiction dispute of this case was included in Lloyd's Law Reports, becoming one of the most leading precedents by the English High Court on whether an anti-suit injunction can bind non-parties to an arbitration agreement

Acted for Weihai Jianghaiyuan Shipping Service Co., Ltd. in the claim and enforcement of oil spill cleanup and pollution prevention costs arising from the grounding and oil spill accident of MV "Hongkuo 2"
Represented a port company in Rizhao, victims, and the Rizhao Emergency Management Bureau respectively in a series of civil tort claims and administrative lawsuits arising from the "8·24" General Poisoning Incident of MV "Glorious Maple" in Rizhao
Acted for the owner of MV "Xinchangtai 1" in participating in the investigation of the major water traffic accident of “10·3” in Yantai, where the vessel was hit by a storm resulting in 6 missing/dead and 6 injured persons, and defended against personal injury claims
