Chenbiao LI

Mr. Li focuses his practice on insurance, financial leasing, trust/fund, shipping, domestic and international trade, and international logistics, providing contentious and non-contentious legal services to insurers, financial leasing companies, trust/fund companies, shipping agents, trading companies, forwarders, and manufacturers in China and abroad. He has represented clients in lawsuits before the Supreme People’s Court and local courts at various levels and arbitrations before CIETAC, CMAC, and other local arbitration commissions, as well as before arbitration institutions in Hong Kong, Singapore, and London. Mr. Li’s main service scope covers insurance, shipping, logistics and freight forwarder, international trade, financing, PE and trust, among others.

Insurance

  • Advised insurance industry clients, including PICC, Ping An, CPIC, Huatai, CCIC, AXA, AIG, New India Assurance, Tokio Marine, Sompo Japan, etc. on claims arising under property insurance, insurance processing of liability insurance, and insurance subrogation for insurance companies; and also on insurance contracts and insurance clauses

 

Shipping and Maritime

  • Advised and provided retainer-based legal services to shipping industry clients, including P&I Clubs, China Cosco Shipping, Hanjin, Yang Ming, Union Lines, NYK, Emirates Lines, CSSC, ZPMC, Hol Hain, Union Ocean Marine Co., JHJ, Air Sea, Li Feng, ASW, etc., covering a wide range of shipping disputes and logistics broker disputes, including maritime injunctions, delivery without original B/L, non-delivery, cargo damage, shortage, detention fees, freights, agency fees, customs inspection, warehousing, charter party, demurrage, road transport, labor, etc. 

 

Finance

  • Advised clients, including Shanghai Trust, Foresee Fund, Sunshare Capital, Pacific Securities, Founder Financial, Noah, Sinowel, Zendai, AJC, Wanjia Co-win, Bank of Nanjing, ICBC Standard, etc., with services covering retainer-based legal services; due diligence and legal analysis for non-litigation projects; dispute resolution, consultation and coordination of surviving projects; and preservation, lawsuit/arbitration, enforcement of disputed assets, etc.
