Mr. Liu works extensively in private equity and venture capital, merger and acquisition, overseas listing, and offshore bond issuances. He regularly advises major private equity and venture capital funds—including the National Social Security Fund, SoftBank, SIG, Sequoia, Goldman Sachs, L Catterton, Vertex, Ascendent Capital, FountainVest, Baring Asia, De Shaw Group, Picus Capital, Chaos Group, etc. for their investments in the industries of telecommunications and media, AI and advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical chemicals, retails, etc. His practice also focuses on offshore capital markets, including overseas listings. Notable mandates in this regard include the listing of Tongcheng-Elong, China First Chemical Holdings Limited, and Ozner Water International Holding Limited on the SEHK, as well as JD.com, Inc., Xunlei Limited, and Secoo Holding Limited on NASDAQ. His practice also covers take-private transactions, including the that of Zhaopin Limited, as well as debt offerings, such as JD's public offering of notes in Singapore. Additionally, in M&A and corporate restructurings, Mr. Liu represents many prominent companies and investors across the exhibition, education, healthcare, retail, and TMT sectors, among others.

Represented Tongcheng Network in its merger with E-Dragon and its IPO on the SEHK (Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan, and CMBI)
Represented Xunlei Limited in its three rounds of pre-IPO financing from Murdoch, Primavera and Xiaomi/Kingsoft, respectively, its IPO on the NASDAQ (JP Morgan and Citi) and subsequent spin-off of Xunlei Kankan
Represented Goldman Sachs and Standard Chartered in the IPO of Ozner Water on the SEHK
Represented China First Chemicals in its IPO on the SEHK (Morgan Stanley)
Represented Jefferies and BNP Paribas (as the joint bookrunners) in the IPO of Secoo Holding Limited on the NASDAQ
