Mark Ho

Mr. Ho's main practice areas are investment/M&A and corporate governance, as well as litigation and arbitration.

Representative Matters

  • Mark provides legal and business advice to clients  on their business operations/transactions, including setting up joint ventures and wholly owned companies, purchasing Chinese assets and consolidating business entities, etc. Mark advises clients on acquisition of real estate premises such as acquisition of land rights, buildings, and factory facilities in China.

  • Mark has amassed substantial experience in distribution, retail, and logistic business as he represented clients in setting up their procurement, retail, and distribution networks in China. His expertise covers trademark licensing, retail licensing, franchising, and brand management and development projects. Notably, Mark assisted McDonald’s in setting up its first franchise store in China and subsequently represented C&A in developing its fashion retail business in Shanghai, Beijing, and other Chinese cities.

  • Mark also represents Chinese companies in their cross-border expansion, outbound investment, and international operations. For example, he represented three Chinese private companies investing and purchasing assets in the United States and setting up manufacturing operations in India.

  • Mark sits on the arbitrator panel of the Shanghai Arbitration Commission as he represents clients in various dispute resolution proceedings including Chinese court proceedings, CIETAC, and other local arbitration proceedings; Mark also assists clients in handling government proceedings and represents clients in liaison with Chinese government agencies.

  • Mark provides China law advice on various compliance issues such as environmental, employment, land, zoning, marketing, media, finance, licensing, etc.
