Zhong Lun Shanghai Office Announces 8 Admissions as Partners
Zhong Lun Law Firm is pleased to announce that 8 partners from Jade & Fountain PRC Lawyers have recently joined the law firm’s Shanghai office as partners in the International Practice. They are Scott Guan, Mark Ho, Jill Lee, Song Liwei, Steven Huang, Xue Tao, Ricky Luo and Blaine Turnacliff.
Managing partner Zhang Xuebing and co-managing partner Anthony Qiao welcomed their admissions and said the admissions would further strengthen the law firm’s expertise in the foreign-related legal services.
Below are introductions of the newly admitted partners.
Scott Guan
Scott Guan graduated from Fudan University with a LLB degree and University of Toronto with a SJD degree. He has practiced law with leading Chinese, Canadian and British law firms in Shanghai, Toronto and Hong Kong. Scott has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, PE and VC investments, capital markets, foreign direct investment, dispute resolution, as well as general corporate and business advice.
Mark Ho
Mark graduated from Renmin University and the University of Georgia School of Law. Mark has worked with international law firms for many years. Mark’s practice includes various business transactions, M&As, corporate restructuring, FCPA review and investigation, Chinese law compliance, environmental issues, joint venture and wholly foreign owned business, real estate, PE/VC investment restructuring and financing, employment, and dispute resolutions.
Jill Lee
Jill Lee graduated from Fudan University with LLB and LLM degrees. Jill Lee has worked with international and domestic law firms for many years and has an extensive experience in cross-border M&A.
Song Liwei
Song Liwei obtained the Doctor in Law from the Université de Paris I. He is admitted to the Paris Bar and practiced as Avocat à la Cour for a number of years in Shanghai. Before joining Zhonglun, he has worked in two well-known international law firms and one Chinese firm in Paris, Beijing and Brussels. His main practice covers international trade, anti-dumping, anti-subsidy, safeguard, foreign direct investment, outbound M&A, foreign commercial litigation, anti-monopoly and general corporate law.
Steven Huang
Steven Huang obtained LLB and LLM from the University of East China Politics and Law, and LLM from the University of San Francisco in 2001. Steven Huang is admitted both in China and New York State. Steven’s practice covers foreign direct investments, general corporate, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, IT and telecommunication, venture capital, and international trade.
Xue Tao
Xue Tao obtained a Master degree from the University of Michigan School of Law in 2003 and Master and Bachelor degrees from East China University of Politics and Law. Prior to joining Zhong Lun Law Firm, Mr. Xue worked with several leading Australian, American and Chinese law firms (including Blake Dawson, Bryan Cave LLP and Jun He Law Offices) for over ten years. Mr. Xue is specialized in general corporate and commercial law, as well as M&A, real estate transactions and tax related matters.
Ricky Luo
Ricky Luo obtained LLM from Trinity College in 2007 and JM degree from Fudan University in 2006. Prior to joining Zhong Lun, Ricky worked for Yao Liang Law Offices and Jade & Fountain PRC Lawyers. Ricky provides many well-known Fortune 500 companies with ongoing legal support relating to business contracts, employment, real estate, IP matters, etc. In addition, Ricky has assisted a number of Chinese companies in getting listed on overseas stock exchanges.
Blaine Turnacliff
Blaine Turnacliff is a Canadian lawyer with 14 years of experience living and working in Greater China. Blaine obtained Bachelor of Laws from the University of Victoria, Canada. Blaine has a diverse corporate practice with experience representing publicly and privately held clients on a variety of trans-national business and investment matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, WFOEs, intellectual property, franchising, licensing, strategic planning, distribution and supply relationships and anti-counterfeiting activities.
