On December 17, 2024, the legal media China Business Law Journal released the list of "The A-List 2024-25: Visionaries”, and two lawyers from Zhong Lun garnered the honor by virtue of their exceptional capabilities.

Gary Gao, Partner

Mr. Gary Gao has nearly 30 years of practical experience in the fields of arbitration, litigation, and compliance. He is especially proficient in handling disputes related to financial trusts, corporate equity, private equity investment in the form of partnerships, procurement contracts, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, international trade, and insurance claims. Gary has a profound understanding of the overall operation of enterprises and commercial insights. He has also accumulated rich experience in strategic planning for dispute resolution in multiple legal jurisdictions, application of laws (especially the application of common law), collection and screening of cross-border evidence, and rules of burden of proof. In addition, in foreign litigation or arbitration procedures, Gary often serves as an expert witness on Chinese law, providing legal opinions on Chinese substantive and procedural laws to clients or foreign legal teams.

Gary enjoys a high reputation in the international legal community. He is Co-chairman (responsible for the Asia-Pacific region) of the ESG Committee of the World Law Alliance, member of the Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce, arbitrator of the Singapore International Arbitration Center, arbitrator of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Center, and arbitrator or mediator of many authoritative institutions at home and abroad.

Mr. David Wang has been engaged in the legal profession for more than 30 years and is one of the earliest lawyers in Shanghai to handle foreign-related legal matters. For many consecutive years, he has been rated as a leading lawyer in Asia and recommended in the field of mergers and acquisitions by internationally renowned legal rating agencies. David has handled various complex and comprehensive mandates for many well-known multinational company clients, including foreign direct investment, corporate business, commercial transactions, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and cooperation, financing, asset restructuring, compliance, commercial trusts, and dispute resolution.

Qualified to practice in both China and the State of New York of the US, David has represented clients in many intricate domestic and overseas litigation and arbitration cases and has resolved numerous foreign-related arbitration cases as an arbitrator of well-known arbitration centers at home and abroad. Meanwhile, David has also provided expert opinions on Chinese law in overseas litigation and arbitration on many occasions as an expert on Chinese law. The extensive experience in dispute resolution enables David to have a unique forward-looking approach to dispute prevention when handling non-litigation matters, allowing him to provide clients with all-round and multi-dimensional legal services.
