Wu Peng Spoke at Seminar on China’s Antimonopoly Law in Japan
On 4th December, 2007, at the invitation of Anderson Mori & Tomotsune, Wu Peng attended a seminar entitled “New Trends of Business in China: promulgation of Antimonopoly Law and its impact".
The seminar was co-sponsored by the Japan Institute for Overseas Investment and Anderson Mori & Tomotsune, and supported by the Japan Bank for International Cooperation. In this seminar, Wu Peng gave a speech entitled “China’s Antimonopoly Law: Impact on Foreign Invested Enterprises and Responding Policies", and answered questions from the audiences. Professor Sheng Jie-ming from Peking University, Mr. Moriwake Akira, Mr. Ishida Hideto, and Mr. Nakagawa Hiroshige from Anderson Mori & Tomotsune also attended the seminar as guest speakers.
The Antimonopoly Law of People’s Republic of China was adopted at the 29th meeting of the Standing Committee of the Tenth National People’s Congress on August 30, 2007. The law is highly appraised among the law professionals for its striking Chinese characteristics while the overall design is abreast of generally accepted international standards.
