Zhong Lun Law Firm and Japanese Mirai Consulting, Inc. have successfully co-held three seminars on Sino-Japanese investment strategies in Beijing, Shanghai and Tokyo, in early September to address the investment and cooperation trends, modes and requirements after the global financial crisis.
On August 9 and 10, 2010, Zhong Lun and Mirai held a seminar on Japan Strategies of Chinese Enterprises in Beijing and Shanghai. The law firm’s partner Wu Peng and Li Hairong, and Mirai’s representative director Mitsuo Kubo and vice director delivered speeches respectively on new trends and needs of cooperation between Chinese and Japanese enterprises, acquisition of Japanese enterprises by Chinese counterparts, and new opportunities, new modes and successful strategies in attracting Japanese investment by Chinese counterparts. The seminar also provided several investment projects for the participating enterprises, including state-owned enterprises, public companies and well-known financial and securities companies.
On September 9, 2010, Zhong Lun and Mirai held a seminar on China Strategies of Japanese Enterprises in Tokyo, attracting more than 120 participants from Japanese enterprises, investment institutions and banks. Later on, Japan’s national public broadcasting organization NHK exclusively interviewed partners Wu Peng and Li Hairong from the law firm.
The three seminars and active participation showed that there was an increase in investment opportunities and M&A activities after the financial crisis. The hosting was also a first-time voluntary effort by the law firm to explore new service modes for Chinese and Japanese enterprises.
