Zhong Lun Holds 2010’s First Partners Meeting in Beijing
Zhong Lun Law Firm held the first Partners Meeting of this year in Beijing from March 5 to 7, 2010. More than 90 partners from Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Hong Kong and Tokyo offices attended the meeting.
At the meeting, managing partner Zhang Xuebing delivered a report on the work the Executive Committee has done during its three-year tenure which ended in March. According to the report, the law firm has made great achievements over the past years. The number of partners has risen to over 100 from 50 in 2006; other professional staff have jumped from 200 to nearly 500; business revenues have seen steady increases; the firm has strengthened its global presence with the opening of new offices in Guangzhou, Tokyo, Wuhan and Hong Kong in addition to Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen; the office space has expanded from 6,100 square meters to 12,000 square meters; the law firm has maintained its leading positions in traditional real estate and foreign direct investment areas, and further enhanced its expertise in international trade, overseas investment, intellectual property, anti-monopoly/competition law, corporate finance, bankruptcy and restructuring, in particular, its practice of capital markets has been ranked top in domestic listings; its client base has expanded with more multinational corporations, leading financial and investment institutions; and the law firm has won top rankings from Chambers, ALB, Asia Law & Practice and other world influential media.
The meeting elected a new Executive Committee with Mr. Zhang Xuebing as the managing partner, and a new Examination and Appraisal Committee with Wupeng as the chair.
The meeting also approved:
1,the work report of the Executive Committee;
2, financial report of 2009;
3, budget report of 2010;
4, Measures on management of Zhong Lun Charity Fund;
5, Promotions of Zhang Decai and other partners (Zhang Decai from Beijing office was promoted as a senior equity partner, while Chen Yao, Sheng Jun, and Xu Jiangyan from Shanghai office and Sun Hui, Fan Rong and Li Pan from Beijing office were promoted as equity partners.); and
6, admission of Zhang Li and other eight experienced lawyers as partners.
