Partner Ping Gu Addresses 4th Expert Forum on ITC Litigation & Enforcement in Washington DC
On February 27-28, 2012, Zhong Lun Law Firm partner Gu Ping participated upon invitation in the American Conference Institute’s 4th Expert Forum on ITC Litigation & Enforcement in Washington, DC, the United States of America.
More than 120 attendees, including senior-level staff from the ITC, bench, bar and in-house counsel, gathered together to share best practices and discuss hands-on, practical solutions on how to handle the unique procedures and challenges of ITC practice. Ms. Gu presented on Cost-Effective Strategies for Conducting Fact-Finding Discovery of Foreign Parties during 337 investigations. Ms. Gu provided her insights on concerns and issues of foreign parties in a 337 investigation, and shared her practical experience on how to navigate the complex procedures and overcome the challenges during discovery.
Chief Judge Rader from the Federal Circuit, ITC Chairman Okun, Commissioner Aranoff, OUII Director Ms. Levine, Chief Judge Bullock, Judges Essex, Rogers, Gildea and Pender all presented during the conference.
Later, Ms. Gu also visited the Court of Appeals of the Federal Circuit upon invitation Chief Judge Rader. Ms. Gu met 7 Federal Circuit judges and discussed with Chief Judge Rader to bring the US Federal Circuit to China to do a joint judicial conference with the Supreme People’s court. Federal Circuit Court hears appeals on patent, 337 investigations, veterans claims, government contracts, anti-dumping and anti-countervailing cases in the US.
