Zhong Lun Advises Legend Holdings Ltd. on Public Bond Issuance in China
In November 2012, Legend Holdings Ltd. (“Legend Holdings") issued a ten-year-period public bond in an aggregate principal amount of RMB 2,300,000,000 in China. Zhong Lun Law Firm acted as legal counsel for Legend Holdings in the issuance of the bond. Professionals involved included partner Zhang Xuebing as general superintendent, partner Jessica Li, associate Daniel Sean and associate Zhao Dian. China Galaxy Securities Company Limited served as the main underwriter for the issuance of the bond. Zhong Lun has acted as legal counsel for the bond financing projects of Legend Holdings for two consecutive years.
Legend Holdings was established in 1984 by eleven researchers at the Computing Institute under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, with an initial funding of RMB 200,000 (or about 30,000 USD). In 2011, its consolidated revenue was RMB 183.1 billion (or about 28 billion USD), its total asset was RMB150.5 billion (or about 23 billion USD), and the total number of its employees was 45,000, including 7,800 outside of China. As the flagship of the Legend conglomerate, Legend Holdings has invested into three areas: Core Asset Operation, Asset Management and Incubator Investment.
