Zhong Lun Advises on the Formation of Sino French (Midcap) Fund
The Sino French (Midcap) Fund has been inaugurated on June 27th, 2014(local time in France) during an official launch ceremony taking place in the offices of Bpifrance Investissement,with a successful fundraising scale of 460 million Euros at its first closing.
The Zhong Lun team, led by Partner Catherine Chen, including associates Stella Wang, Joseph Liu, Xue Tang, Qing Jing, Peizhi Zhao and Wenhao Zheng, provided full legal service in this transaction.
During the state visit of the Chinese President Xi Jinping to France in March this year, China Development Bank Capital and Bpifrance Investissement both acting as the cornerstone investors and Cathay Capital Private Equity acting as the fund manager had jointly executed the memorandum of understanding for the Sino French (Midcap) Fund formation. The Sino French (Midcap) Fund marks a new step in the Sino-French relationship for private-equity investment, aiming to stimulate the growth and international expansion of French, Chinese and European companies of the midcap segment, as well as focusing on the German Mittelstand.
