Zhong Lun Law Firm Assisted SoftBank Vision Fund II in Successfully Investing in Dingdong Maicai
According to the report of Caixin.com, on May 12, 2021, Dingdong Maicai, an e-commerce company operating fresh groceries business announced the closing of Series D+ financing of USD 330 million, which was led by SoftBank Vision Fund II. Earlier on April 6, 2021, Dingdong Maicai announced the closing of Series D financing of USD 700 million. So far, the accumulative financing amount of Series D of Dingdong Maicai has reached USD 1.03 billion.
Zhong Lun Law Firm, as the PRC legal counsel of SoftBank Vision Fund II, provided legal support to SoftBank Vision Fund II for its investment in Dingdong Maicai. The hosting partners of this project are Audry Li and Luke Zhang, and the key members of the project team include lawyers Grace Gao, Willow Liu, Summer Huang and Mengjie Zhan.

Dingdong Maicai is currently one of the benchmark enterprises for new retail of fresh groceries in China. Its service scope has covered 29 cities in China including Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, etc., with nearly 1000 frontline fulfillment stations serving more than 900,000 daily orders.
