Maoyuan ZHU
Having been practicing real estate law since 1992, Mr. Zhu has pioneered the full-service model for the real estate business, and accumulated substantial experience in handling matters involving the investment, construction and operation of large theme parks and travel destinations, investment, integration and construction of multipurpose real estate, real estate M&A, operation and management of assets, real estate financing and infrastructure, risk management in construction, and dispute resolution in real estate and construction. Mr. Zhu and his team have been dealing with projects such as large theme parks and travel destination, recreational projects, infrastructure, integration and preparation of land, office buildings, apartment buildings, residential buildings, hotels, shopping malls, industrial plants, special-purpose properties, public utilities, and civil engineering. Mr. Zhu is highly experienced in the design of the deal structure and planning of transactions, risk management, arrangement and management of transactional procedures, and coordination of lawyers and other professionals. Mr. Zhu is especially resourceful when it comes to organizing complex transactions and the investment, operation and management involved in large comprehensive projects. The projects that he heads seldom fail to be the center of attention in the market. Mr. Zhu’s comprehensive projects and real estate clients are mostly major companies, such as Beijing Tourism Group, CITIC Group, China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), COFCO Corporation, China Resources (CRC), Bank of China, China Cinda Asset Management Company, Wanda Group, China Vanke Co., FuWah International Group, China Minmetals Corporation, Sino-Ocean Land, Lenovo China, and Legend Travel.
Mr. Zhu also has great expertise in the construction area. Since 1994, he has kept a strong focus on building in-depth and full-range services that cater to every need arising from project construction. Mr. Zhu and his team possess a wealth of experience and comprehensive framework of knowledge in virtually every aspect of construction, including preparation of bidding documents, pre-bidding preparation and coordination of the ownership, drafting and negotiation of legal documents, risk management during and after construction (including the inspection and handover of projects), project settlement, and disputes over price, quality, term and other issues. Their professionalism and dedication are much praised by clients. Universal Studios and the Beijing Tourism Group in their joint investment in the Universal Studios Beijing theme park, with a total investment of CNY 62 billion
CITIC Group in its CNY 50 billion investment in Binhai New Town Project located in Shantou
CITIC Group in its CNY 24 billion investment in Z15 Tower, an Ultra-High-Rise Building in Beijing
Samsung Group in the construction of its headquarters building in the Beijing central business district, total investment estimated to be USD 700 million
Walmart, Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc., OBI, B&Q, Parkson, etc., in investments
Wanda Group in over CNY 100 billion investments in dozens of cities
China World Phase II and China World Phase Ill in their CNY 20 billion development
Volkswagen (China) Investment Co., Ltd. in its CNY 5 billion investment project in Beijing
