Zhong Lun, Salans Host Symposium on Trade Disputes and Strategies
Zhong Lun Law Firm, in partnership with international law firm Salans, hosted a symposium on Accelerating Trade Disputes and Corresponding Strategies by Chinese Enterprises under the Impact of Global Financial Crisis in Beijing on September 22, 2009. The symposium was aimed at helping Chinese enterprises find new strategies and approaches to respond to the increasing trade protection measures from abroad.
At the symposium, senior attorneys-at-law from Zhong Lun, with a breadth of experience in advising Chinese enterprises on anti-dumping, anti-subsidy and safeguard measures from abroad, shared their insights on the relevant legal issues, procedural matters and provided corresponding strategies for the Chinese enterprises to respond to the trade measures. Officials from the Ministry of Commerce also introduced the latest developments in the trade measures initiated by the United States, Canada, Australia, the European Union and India. Furthermore, senior WTO experts spoke about possible measures for enterprise to protect their interests in the trade frictions.
More than 40 participants from the Ministry of Commerce, regional administrations of commerce, All China Lawyers Association, China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, import/export commerce chambers and associations, law firms and academies, and well-known enterprises attended the symposium.
The participants discussed strategies and ways for Chinese enterprises, different levels of government agencies, commerce chambers and associations to respond to the increasing trade disputes at the symposium.
