Zhong Lun Partners Speak at In-House Congress Singapore 2010
Zhong Lun partners Shirley Xu, Zhang Decai and Cao Lijun jointly delivered a speech on “Prepare for potential disputes - How to best design an investment structure and dispute resolution mechanism" at a workshop of the In-House Congress Singapore 2010 which was held by the Pacific Business Press on September 14, 2010. Their speech has attracted wide attention from the participants, including around 100 in-house counsel from multinationals in Singapore.
In their speech, the three partners, drawing upon their vast legal experiences, particularly experiences in handling the cases selected for the speech, elaborated on defects existing in several typical offshore investment structures, solutions to such defective structures, the pros and cons of onshore litigation and arbitration as mechanism for resolving potential disputes, and the pros and cons of onshore and offshore arbitration. After the speech, the partners also answered a few practical questions from the participants.
According to Pacific Business Press’ survey with the participants after the conference, “the Zhong Lun workshop was considered the best out of all the workshops in Singapore".
During their stay in Singapore, the partners also visited the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) and a few international law firms.
