Partner Anthony Qiao Donates RMB1 Million to Set up Academic Fund at ECUPL

On March 25, 2011, a brief ceremony was held to mark the formal signing of a donation agreement for the set-up of “Wenjun Academic Fund for Teaching and Studying", an academic fund named after Zhong Lun Law Firm co-managing partner Mr. Anthony Wenjun Qiao, in Huayi Building, Changning Division of East China University of Political Science and Law(“ECUPL"). Mr. Anthony Qiao and his wife, Secretary of Party Committee of ECUPL Du Zhichun and other department leaders were present at the ceremony.

At the ceremony, Mr. Anthony Qiao made a speech and expressed his grateful thanks to his alma mater ECUPL. He said that his decision to donate RMB1 million to establish the fund was aimed to encourage academic researches and promote combination of college education and legal practice. He also expressed his willingness to cooperate with ECUPL in areas of legal practice and college curriculum construction.

Du Zhichun thanked in his speech Mr. Qiao and his wife for their care and support to ECUPL. He also praised them as outstanding examples of up 100,000 legal professionals the university has trained during the past 60 years. He said the donation reflected alumni’s respect of spirit of law and also their sincere heart to ECUPL.
