Zhong Lun Advises China Construction Bank on USD 2.5 Billion Syndicated Loans in Australia
The Sydney Branch of China Construction Bank Corporation (CCB) successfully completed the provision of two syndicated loans totaling approximately USD 2.5 billion to support the borrower’s acquisition of Pacific Hydro Pty Ltd, a large sized Australian renewable energy company.
CCB acted as the sole arranger, agent and a major lender in the transaction. There were three other Chinese banks and three international banks participating in the syndicated facilities.
The transaction involved the laws of mainland China, Hong Kong and Australia.
Zhong Lun Law Firm and the Australian law firm Allens jointly acted for CCB. Zhong Lun was the Hong Kong and mainland China counsel and Allens was the Australian counsel.
Partner Wayne Wang coordinated of Zhong Lun’s Hong Kong and Beijing teams. Partner Muriel Tsang helped lead the the Hong Kong team with support from associates Sam Wu and Ni Cheng. Partner Wang Xianghong led the Beijing team with support from associates Li Baihui and He Yuanding. Zhong Lun worked closely with Allens to provide CCB with seamless legal support and completed the transaction on time.
