Zhong Lun Advises Motphys, Houmo.AI and HiBO on Financing
Zhong Lun’s partner David Xu and his team have recently completed several financing projects for technology companies.
Nanjing Houmo Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. (“Houmo.AI") completed its angel financing of tens of million US dollars in March 2021 and Series Pre-A financing of RMB 300 million in August 2021. Houmo.AI’s angel financing was led by Sequoia Capital China Fund, followed by Matrix Partners China, Lenovo Capital, Hony Capital and IMO Ventures. Its Series Pre-A financing was led by Qiming Venture Partners and followed by all existing investors, including Matrix Partners China, Sequoia Capital China Fund, Lenovo Capital, Hony Capital and IMO Ventures, as well as new investors, including MSA Capital, Qihang Capital and Wofo Capital. Acting as legal counsel for Houmo.AI, Zhong Lun participated in the whole process of these financings. The team was led by partner David Xu, with support from associate Tingting Ji and other lawyers. Established at the end of 2020, Houmo.AI focuses on creation of original new intelligent computing chips, integrated software and hardware platforms, and integrated storage and computing technology and storage technology, committed to breaking through the bottlenecks of the intelligent computing chip performance and power consumption and making artificial intelligence more accessible to users.
Motphys, a game engine company, raised millions of US dollars in its angel financing in August 2021. That round of financing was co-led by Sequoia China Seed Fund and Hillhouse Venture and followed by Game Trigger. Zhong Lun, acting as legal counsel for Motphys, has participated in the whole process of the transaction. The legal counsel team was led by partner David Xu and supported by associate Jiayu MA and others. Motphys was established in October 2020. Its founders all came from leading sports game companies and have extensive experience in competitive game project. Motphys is focusing on development of high-performance game engines. The performance and development efficiency of its game engines have been recognized by many well-known studios.
Suzhou HIBO Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. (“HiBO") completed its Series A+ financing of tens of million in RMB in July 2021. The financing was exclusively provided by Shunwei Capital. Acting as legal counsel for HiBO, Zhong Lun participated in the whole process of the financing. The team was led by partner David Xu, with support from Tingting Ji and other lawyers. HiBO is a tech company integrating R&D, manufacturing and sales of new automotive braking products and key components for autonomous driving. The core members of HiBO’s team are all from leading auto parts companies and have worked in their respective professional fields for more than 15 years.
